About us
Meet the Founders
We’re Thies and Stephan, childhood friends and the founders of About Companions. The idea behind our name is personal: companions are there for you, become familiar over time and earn your trust.
We bring 15 years of experience to designing menswear that makes getting dressed feel straightforward. Relaxed classics, distinctive fabrics and familiar fits form a wardrobe you can keep building on.
As an owner-run brand, we stay closely involved in what we make, from choosing fabrics to refining the details. We want our clothes to become favourites you return to, and the people behind them to feel just as approachable. That is what companionship means to us.
“In the end, it's a very personal thing. I want to be true to myself and to others. I want to create something that I can stand behind 100%. I want to offer honest and good products that I use every day and that I can enjoy for a long time. And I believe that many people share this attitude with me.
”
“It is simply a huge motivation for me when I realise that I have made my customers satisfied, and in a sustainable way. It's all about men who have already let off steam in terms of trends, who want to be well dressed every day, at work and at their leisure time, without having to stress too much about it.

- Stephan's Choice
- Thies' Choice
Introducing Simon, the must-have Companion of our Co-Founder Stephan: A relaxed shirt with a narrow collar and broad button placket, neatly topstitched. Simon works buttoned up or worn open over a T-shirt, with a curved hem reinforced at the side seams.
Meet Owe, the all-time favourite from our Co-Founder Thies: An overshirt that strikes a balance between casual and classic. With a slightly boxy and relaxed fit, the smart yoke and front pocket construction as well as refined cuff details. The collar is designed so that Owe fits well high-necked and open.
